NEW!!! Kettlebell Training

Atalanta Fitness Training is pleased to be able to offer kettlebell training!

Fitness Instructor/Personal Trainer Jill Hall has now qualified as a kettlebell trainer through KBTEducation and is now a member of British Weightlifting as a result.

Jill will be offered kettlebell training either as a 1-2-1 session, or as part of a package of personal training sessions. Sessions will be £25 each. Jill can also cater for small groups of up to 5 people who could share the cost between them.

Sessions can take place either at Bodywise HealthClub in Stourbridge, in the great outdoors, or at your home (preferably in the garden!).

Boot Camp News! May 2013

Just a couple of items of news for you to keep you posted with all that’s happening at Beach Body Boot Camp.

Tuesday Morning Classes at Blakedown

I am very sorry to have to inform you that TUESDAY MORNING BOOT CAMPS are now CANCELLED and I am consolidating the two weekday morning classes into one.  As such, Thursdays will continue as normal – 9:30am at Churchill & Blakedown Sports Ground.

May Timetable Changes

Due to the 2 Bank Holidays in May, the following classes are cancelled:

Monday 6 May, 2013, Churchill & Blakedown Sports Ground

Monday 27 May 2013, Churchill & Blakedown Sports Ground.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused. If you are going to miss your workout, you are more than welcome to come to one of the other Boot Camp classes running throughout the week

  • Saturdays 10am at Cutnall Green
  • Wednesdays 7pm at Hagley
  • Thursdays 9:30am at Blakedown.

Cutnall Green will run as normal during the Bank Holiday weekend.

Monday Night Boot Camp Is Nearly Full!

Are you a lapsed Monday night Beach Body Boot Camper? Are you intending on restarting classes soon? If so, HURRY! Monday nights are very nearly at capacity! I limit class sizes so that I can provide a safe and effective workout for everyone, whilst being able to offer specific coaching points to individuals. Now the lighter and warmer evenings are here, classes have got much, much busier and there are now only a couple more spaces available.

There are more spaces available on Saturdays at Cutnall Green, but I expect those to go soon too, so same applies to lapsed Cutnall Greeners!

Tuesday & Thursday Boot Camps at Blakedown

Hi Boot Campers

Please note that Blakedown Beach Body Boot Camp on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Churchill & Blakedown Sports & Recreation ground is now ‘on demand’. This will require you to ‘pre-book’ – which you can do by just either sending me:

Please do this BY 8:30AM ON THE DAY OF THE CLASS, to confirm your attendance.

If I don’t hear from you, I will assume you are not coming.

Assuming I have enough requests to run the class, I will run it, otherwise I will let you know by 9am, on that day, if the class is cancelled.

If you don’t hear from me to that effect, you can assume it is running.

Blakedown Boot Camp

Back TONIGHT, Monday 8 April 2013 at 7pm, and every Monday (apart from Bank Holidays*) – BLAKEDOWN BEACH BODY BOOT CAMP – Outdoor fitness training for adults!

Classes are about an hour in length and comprise several different sets of HITT! That’s HIGH INTENSITY INTERVAL TRAINING. Classes also take place on a sports field so be prepared to get sweaty, muddy and maybe wet. BE PREPARED TO WORK HARD! Monday nights are intermediate/advanced level.

NEW FOR SPRING 2013, Mondays at Blakedown going to be more running focused than other classes, and so you will be required to be able to, at the very least, jog. That said, the class does comprise a whole range of abilities – we just make the faster, more able, Boot Campers do more reps, harder exercises and run further … ;)

Not sure if it’s for you? Come and give it a go for FREE! First session is absolutely free with no obligation whatsoever, and treat your first one as a recce as you will not know how to pace yourself for the session. Hopefully you will love it and want to come again, in which case it is £5 PAYG, or you can buy 6 sessions for £25: these 6 sessions do not have to be taken consecutively, but they do have to be used up within 3 months, otherwise they WILL expire.

Please note: There is NO access to changing facilities, nor toilets  nor showers, at ANY Boot Camp venue. PLEASE ARRIVE DRESSED READY TO WORK OUT & in SUITABLE CLOTHING FOR THE WEATHER/GROUND CONDITIONS! If the ground is cold, you MUST wear gloves, preferably waterproof ones.

Meet on the Pavilion Steps for a 7pm PROMPT start, please. The warm-up starts at 7pm. The warm-up is an essential part of the training session. You will NOT be allowed to partake of the session UNLESS you have completed the entire warm up!

NEWCOMERS please arrive NO LATER than 6:50pm for induction and health and safety screening. You will be required to complete a PAR-Q (physical activity questionnaire) in order to partake in the class. If you like, you can click the link to download the Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q), print it out, complete it and bring it with you. Please remember to complete both sides and read the informed consent.

GETTING THERE: Churchill & Blakedown Sports & Recreation Ground is off the A456 at Blakedown, the driveway to which is just past the bus stop on the left hand side as you drive into Blakedown from Hagley direction. It is well signposted with 2 large white signs at the end of the drive. If you can, walk or cycle here! It will help you warm up! If arriving by car, drive up the access driveway (beware of the potholes!), past the playground and park in the car park. There is limited parking available during term-time, but please note the car park barrier is locked during the daytime in the the school holidays. However, the access driveway is wide enough to park down one side of, but there is limited space. Please be aware that the driveway and car park is unlit. There is a village car park off the A456 at the rear of the shops on the opposite side of the road to the Sports Ground. If you park on roadsides in the area, please show consideration to the residents. Alternatively, the sports ground is just 250m or so (approximately) from the railway station at Blakedown, and there is a bus stop outside the A456 entrance. Cars are parked at owners/your own risk.

Once parked, walk towards the pavilion (the white concrete building) and then around to the front (opposite side to the tennis courts).  Jill/your instructor is usually there 10-15 minutes before the start of class. Many attendees are local and walk to the venue, so there may not be many, nor any, cars in the car park when you arrive, and you cannot see the front of the pavilion from the car park. Walk up the path and around to the front of the building.

(This normally only effects evening classes during the summer months, but there are occasions when the Sports Ground is out of bounds because there is a cricket match on. When this happens, we adjourn to the Millennium Green, off Belbroughton Road, Blakedown, at the rear of the Parish Rooms. When the class is held at Millennium Green, the meeting point is on the bench at the foot of the steep driveway that runs down towards the Millennium Green.  There is ample parking at the Parish Rooms. Again, cars are parked at your own risk.)

Hagley Boot Camp

Hi Boot Campers

Boot Camp is back on, now that I am back from skiing and on the mend from my nasty illness!

Please note, though, that Hagley Boot Camp is now at capacity! Thanks to everyone who is coming along to this class, and helping to make it the success that it is!

However, this does mean that, unless you are a ‘Regular’ (you know who you are!), or you have liaised with me already about attending the class, there are currently NO more spaces in the class. Very sorry to disappoint anyone.

However, (again), I am hoping to put on an extra class as soon as I’ve enough interest to warrant hiring an extra instructor. Basically, this means that I need a minimum of  another 7 prospective attendees, who crucially can commit themselves to attending regularly (at least once a fortnight). So, if you are interested in attending Hagley Boot Camp, please still contact me, so that I can put your details down on the waiting list. Of course, there may be other occasions when I don’t expect the class to be at capacity, such as if people have let me know in advance that they will not be attending, in which case there may be space, and I can let you know.

Alternatively, there is, at the moment, plenty of space at the Monday 7pm class at Churchill & Blakedown Sports & Recreation ground (only a couple of miles down the road from Hagley), although I do expect this class to become very busy now the light nights are here, and once the weather warms up! Similarly, there is space at the Saturday 10am class at Cutnall Green: A bit further away, but well worth the effort, and many of the Hagley/Blakedown Boot Campers also attend this class and Blakedown.

Don’t forget, if you are able to train during weekdays, there is plenty of space on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:30am at Churchill & Blakedown Sports & Recreation ground and, in fact, these two classes are ideal for beginners.

Further Boot Camp cancellations – but normal service will resume shortly …

Hi again Boot Campers

Very sorry, but, as suspected, I am going to have to cancel tonight’s (Wednesday 27 March) Boot Camp at Hagley, AND tomorrow’s (Thursday 28 March) at Blakedown.

I am still very unwell and unable to teach Boot Camp safely and effectively. Unfortunately, @AndyPincher is unavailable to cover either class, hence the cancellation. Apologies for any inconvenience caused. I hope you understand that I really do not like cancelling classes and only do so if absolutely necessary and if it’s completely unavoidable.

Saturday 30 March at Cutnall Green Memorial Ground at 10am IS running as normal, but with Andy, so get yourselves down there for a workout!

Monday 1 April is Easter Monday and a Bank Holiday and so there is NO class at Blakedown that evening either.

Normal service (i.e. with me) will resume, all being well, next Tuesday 2 April 2013 and I hope very much to have all classes back and running as normal for the next couple of months after that (apart from Bank Holidays).

Once again, very sorry everyone. Hope to see you all back at class very soon.
